Barry Keating

Barry has been a part of the music industry for many years. Starting in the 60's in Regina, Saskatchewan when he and some of his buddies decided to form a band. After a few years of playing locally they launched their professional careers recording in Hollywood for RCA under the guidance of well-known producer Gary Paxton. One of their singles reached #6 on the Canadian charts. They toured extensively throughout North America with the likes of the Guess Who, The Turtles, and The Dave Clark Five. Barry's musical influences include Motown artists like The Four Tops and The Temptations, Stax Studio R & B recording artists such as Sam & Dave, Otis Redding and Wilson Picket, as well as The British Invasion which brought such artists as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to North America. In 1987 Barry accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and shortly thereafter started playing in church. Barry, together with his wife Carol, has been involved in worship ministry and providing music for several churches, singles' groups, the Gospel Mission in Vancouver's downtown Eastside and currently at Celebrate Recovery in Maple Ridge, B.C. Barry is an integral part of the Knitting Club adding his talent as a bass player and vocalist.
